Nestled amidst the rolling greens of Tweed Heads South, the Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club stands as a beacon of sustainability in our community. In a bid to enhance their facilities while reducing their environmental footprint, the club embarked on a journey towards solar energy. Let’s delve into how this local golfing haven partnered with us to implement a unique commercial solar solution, showcasing a new era of sustainability.

How Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club is embracing solar power

A sustainable solution for the future

Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club’s decision to embrace solar power highlights its commitment to sustainability. By opting for a 99kW solar system, made up of 198 500W commercial solar panels from Trina Solar, and a 100kW Fronius Tauro inverter, the club took a significant step towards reducing its reliance on traditional energy. This move not only highlights the clubs eco-friendly ethos, but also sets an example for sustainable practices within our local community.

Blending aesthetics with functionality

One of the challenges in implementing solar solutions for commercial establishments is ensuring a seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Like all jobs, the installation of 198 solar panels atop the club’s expansive rooftops was executed with complete precision. The Clenergy all black racking and mounting system that we use not only provides sturdy support for the panels, but also complements the aesthetics of the club.

Reducing costs, increasing savings

Beyond environmental and sustainability benefits, the transition to solar power brings tangible financial benefits to a club like this. By harnessing the sunlight that we so much enjoy in our region, the club can significantly reduce its energy expenditure, providing substantial cost savings now and well into the future. Like any grid-tied solar system, the opportunity to receive credits for unused electricity is also available through feed-in tariffs. This strategic investment not only supports the clubs financial resilience, but also shows a commitment to fiscal responsibility too.
